Greenlake Summer Regatta
ERA will have Learn to Row, High Performance and Masters' attending!
From Event website:
First held in 1961, the Summer Extravaganza Regatta is hosted by Green Lake Crew and the Rowing Advisory Council on the first Saturday of August. The Summer Extravaganza is the oldest continually running rowing regatta for juniors on the West Coast, and possibly even in the entire portion of the country west of the Mississippi, according to friend of the program Lenny O’Donnell of Rowing Archives.
Although it started as a regatta for juniors, these 1000-meter sprint races are for all skill levels and ages. The alligator is the mascot of the Extravaganza, ever since two two-foot-long caimans were discovered in Green Lake in 1986. No harm came to the gators, which were relocated to nearby Woodland Park Zoo.
We are looking forward to hosting a day of fantastic sprints. Welcome back to Green Lake, where we pull hard, row fast, and have fun!
